Jack Garner called the meeting to order at 7:15 with pledges to the US and Texas flags. He offered the prayer.

Rose Head read the minutes from the August meeting. Web Mays moved and Walt Kovar seconded that the report be approved.

Henry McKinney emailed Rose the treasurer’s report. We had $1060.77 at the close of last month. The electric bill for the month of September was $17.28 leaving a balance of $1043.49 in our account. Ronnie moved and Jack seconded that the report be approved.

Old Business:

Jack asked about our relationship with the law enforcement center. Walt said we need to visit Judge Falk.

Ronnie Head said he hasn’t met Carson Padgett to go through the rest of the radios. The HamFest is next week.

New Business:

The QST has posted Macalee Himes Silent Key. We had a moment of silence in her memory. Walt suggested that we honor past members who are now Silent Key on our website. Rose said it can be done. The names recalled were Janie Wooley, Norman Truitt, Harden Schaeffer, Breta Head, Macalee Himes and Don Padgett. We can include the name, call sign, picture if available and a bio.

The Jamboree on the Air is October 16th-18th. Alan and Ronnie did it last year. Rose moved we do it on the 17th at 5:30. Walt will make the arrangements.

Jack thinks we should sponsor a Ham class at least once a year, running 2 hours a week working through the question pool. Walt and Rose agreed to look for material on ARRL and elsewhere. Walt said we could advertise in the paper, at schools and with the scouts.

There was no program because of lack of air conditioning.

Meeting adjourned at about 7:38.
