Jack Garner called the meeting to order at 7:03 with pledges to the US and Texas flags. Ronnie Head offered the prayer.

Rose Head read the minutes from the September meeting. Jack moved and Ronnie seconded that the report be approved.

Henry McKinney gave the treasurer’s report. The opening balance was $1043.49. The electric bill for October was $17.35 leaving an ending balance of $1026.14. Ronnie moved and Walt Kovar seconded that the report be approved.

Old Business:

Jack asked about our relationship with the law enforcement center. Walt had tried to visit Judge Falk.

Jack said he received an email from Walt with online links to material useful for training classes. There was a lot of material from a club in Big Spring. Jack recommends we start teaching lessons in February. The club agreed to go forward with that.

We will meet in November on the 3rd Thursday.

Walt introduced out two visitors and told about the JOTA. Kylee Medina said it was cool to communicate without a cell phone. Savannah Head was the other visitor.

Walt proposed we buy a new Technician License Manual to pass around. Web Mays contributed $20 towards that.

Walt proposed we get a card to send to Henrietta Stevens. Rose will take care of that.

Ronnie reported that we sold $240 worth of goods for Padgett plus $10 of Alan Brown’s stuff at HamFest. Rose gave the $10 to Henry for the treasury.

New Business:

Ronnie told about Alan’s plans to set up another repeater on 146.80 to link to Austin. Alan Brown had suggested that we move our repeater to a coordinated frequency. Ron told the members the history of the frequency we had. There was much discussion.

Derek Pausewang asked about Alan Brown’s plans for an FM station.

Jack gave a program about his minimalist ham radio cabinet. It has a footprint of just 24” x 28” in a spare room in his home.

We need to transfer the club call sign to another trustee and renew it. It has already expired. Rose moved and Henry seconded that we ask Alan Brown to take over the trustee of K5TRO. Derek was also suggested if Alan couldn’t do it.

Richard Stone moved and Walt seconded that the meeting be adjourned at 8:04 PM.
