Alan Brown called the meeting to order at 7:06 with pledges to the Texas and US flags. He offered the prayer.

Rose Head read the minutes from the October meeting. Walt Kovar moved and Richard Stone seconded that the report be approved.

There was no treasurer’s report.

Old Business:

In old business, we discussed the options for K5TRO trustee. Alan can’t take the responsibility because an individual can only be trustee for one club call sign. He has that for another club. Derek Pausewang declined after considering his commitments over the next several years and probable moves when he enters college. Rose moved that she act as K5TRO trustee. Richard seconded. Motion passed.

Judge Falk and Alan plan to visit the Hood County emergency operations center in Granbury on November 25th. Sheriff Clint Hammonds and dispatcher Jim Seiders may visit there too. It will be an opportunity to see a center similar to what may be built here.

New Business:

Walt bought 2 manuals and 2 handheld radios for training of new operators. We had 5 young visitors from the girl scout troop interested in amateur radio. They were Isis Pledger, Samantha Simmons, Savanah Head, Kylee Medina, and Emmary Petersen. Walt discussed with them the process of getting a ham license and got them looking through the books. Rose got their email addresses and agreed to send them the question pool and links to online testing after the meeting.

Alan told about his FM broadcast station. The FCC has authorized construction of the station within the next 3 years and approved the tower. He plans for the broadcasting to be community driven.

Web Mays and Rose were assigned the task of arranging our December Christmas supper during the third week of December. There will not be a regular meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 7:52 pm.
