President Derek Pausewang called the meeting to order at 7:02 with pledges to the US and Texas flags. Jack Garner offered the prayer.

Rose Head read the minutes from the last meeting. Richard Stone moved that the minutes be accepted as read. Walter Kovar seconded. Motion passed.

In old business, Ronnie Head reported that the club had made about 1200 contacts during field day and would be awarded about 32,000 points. Derek said the solar panels weren’t used for any contacts. The AC/DC converter blew out. He had since bought a new one. Derek brought in the visitors log. One of the visitors, Walter Kovar’s grandson, John Hardy, is enthused about ham radio and is now studying the technician’s manual. Derek suggested that we have another voice station next year.

In new business, Derek asked what new events we can do. He knew of a competition on August 13th and 14th. We discussed antennae options for Derek. Walter congratulated the newest hams and took pictures for the newspaper. Jack has applied to be a W5YI test examiner. Jack asked about the coax soldering class that Bennie Owens plans to do. Bennie mentioned doing it at the August meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
