Minutes of February 25, 2016

Jack Garner called the meeting to order at 7:00 with pledges to the Texas and US flags. Walt Kovar offered the prayer.

Rose Head read the minutes from the November meeting. Richard Stone moved and Walt seconded that the report be approved.

Henry McKinney read the treasurer’s report. The electric bill for November was $17.71. The December bill was $18.40. The January bill was $18.21. The February bill was $18.02. A $10 donation was received and $78 in dues was collected. The current balance is $1041.80. The report was accepted.

Old Business:

Rose has been accepted as the k5tro trustee and has received the renewed license.

Richard reported that Clint Hammond was very happy with the setup he observed at the Hood County emergency operations center in Granbury.

Jack reported on the training sessions. He and Rondel Stevens have a fairly large class. Ronnie Head reported that the tests are ready.

Walt nominated officers for 2016: Jack Garner, president; Ronnie Head, vice-president; Henry McKinney, treasurer, Rose Head, secretary. The officers were elected. Walt was confirmed as Reporter, also.

New Business:

Walt asked if the club wants to participate in the Goat Cook-off this year. It will be April 22-23. Rose moved that we participate. Ronnie seconded the motion. It passed.

Walt asked if we wanted to continue membership in the Chamber of Commerce for a cost of $25 and place an ad in the brochure that is given out for a cost of $10. Rose moved that we continue. Henry seconded. The motion passed.

Walt said the 2016 Field Day packets are available. Some opportunities for points have been added.

Walt reported that the FCC is now considering lifetime Ham licenses. We can write a support letter to ARRL if interested.

Richard moved that we adjourn at 7:30 pm.
